As Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and developing supplier relationships that provide the backbone of our product development and push Maiden Home into new categories to rapidly grow our product line. You will own the execution of supplier negotiations and supplier performance that drive value for Maiden Home. The ideal candidate is a clear communicator and collaborator who is invested in nurturing the relationships between Maiden Home’s supplier partners and internal stakeholders. This role reports into the VP of Strategic Sourcing at Maiden Home.

As a key member of the product team, you should have a deep product sense and an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to set the sourcing strategy for new product and category opportunities and collaborate cross functionally to launch new collections. You should be deeply analytical and keen to understand our customers, our brand and the competitive landscape, and excellent at communicating with a variety of audiences. You will work cross-functionally with Design, Product Development and Operations to bring product to life.

This is a fully in person position, located at our New York headquarters in the Tribeca Design District.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day to day sourcing activities on the Maiden Home team, which includes identifying needs, finding suppliers, requesting and evaluating sample materials, and maintaining supplier relationships
  • Manage the placement of our designs with manufacturing partners.
  • Continuously identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers of high-end materials, finishes, and components.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times to support cost-efficiency while creating high quality products.
  • Collaborate with Product Design, Product Development, and Operations teams for executing new product launches successfully.
  • Conduct market research to discover emerging trends, new materials, and sourcing innovations.
  • Ensure suppliers align with our production standards.
  • Proactive and resourceful in identifying opportunities to expand Maiden Home’s supplier network.
  • Open to traveling domestically and internationally as required.
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, design or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, product development and buying, preferably in the luxury furniture, home décor, design or consumer goods sectors
  • Proven experience in working effectively with suppliers to get the best outcomes for the business
  • Product development and product launch experience 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders on cross-functional projects
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with a deep understanding of luxury market expectations
